Self Determination – The Ultimate Freedom.
When dealing with the topic of independence, respectively self-employment, one might think that the same principles apply to it as to the topic of employment. However, this is only the case to a certain extent. The reason for this is that the step into self-employment has much more to do with trust than the step into a new profession.
If you want to develop in your profession or are looking for a job, this also has a lot to do with trust, but when you accept a position, you find yourself in a functioning system: a company that works. You are then part of this company, make your contribution through your work and are responsible for your work area. However, you are not responsible for the entire company.
When you are self-employed, you are the entire company and therefore responsible for everything. You can’t become a part of something that already exists, you have to create everything yourself. This fact can of course present you with a crucial question:
“Can I do that?
What slows you down.
Regardless of whether you are currently employed and have experience, or whether you have no job and no training and are considering starting your own business: the question will always be the same.
Unfortunately, it is this question that stops many people from taking the plunge into self-employment, as they often simply don’t have the confidence to do so. It’s just easier to join a company and only be responsible for your own area than to create a complete company from scratch.
And, no matter how big a self-employed business is, it is always a business!
The question of whether or not you should start your own business therefore leads you directly to your self-confidence. More precisely, it leads you to your fear, because it is only fear that prevents you from realizing your ideas or dreams.
It doesn’t matter whether you think you can’t do something from a professional point of view or whether you doubt your chances of success. In both cases, you are expressing fear:
– You are afraid that you won’t be able to learn something.
– You are afraid that you won’t be able to do something.
– You are afraid because you think that you are not enough in the present: because you can’t do something.
Added to this is the fear that creeps in indirectly:
– Fear of what others might think and say (if you don’t make it).
– Fear that things will stay the way they are.
– Fear of how your life will turn out if you don’t make it.
– Fear of losing something: like your money or possessions.
It is therefore important to realize that no matter what reasons you put forward, fear is always the real cause. It is the only thing that stands between you and your desire.
In other words: the thoughts generated by your fear prevent you from perceiving what you want to perceive in your reality: your successful self-employment.
In addition to “I can’t do it” or “I’ve never learned how to do it” or “I don’t know if I can do it” etc., there is another frequently cited reason for not tackling self-employment: external circumstances, i.e. too little money, no contacts or no market etc.
The past does not always determine the future.
Even if these reasons may be correct from your current perspective, you should consider the following:
– Your current reality is the result of your previous thoughts (previous beliefs).
– What is now has no influence whatsoever on your (future) thoughts and beliefs.
– What is now does not have to remain the same in the future.
It is also helpful to look at the life stories of the many people who have built up a very successful self-employment from nothing. The biographies of these people often read like adventure novels made up of a chain of coincidences. However, this is only the case if you are not aware of the connections. Once you understand how your perception is connected to your thinking, chains of coincidences become logical connections.
Then encounters, insights, ideas or perceptions that have ultimately led to success become nothing more than logical consequences of a certain way of thinking.
The biggest problem with all this is that it’s easy to get stuck on the “how”: how are you going to achieve this and that if you’re not professionally trained, have no money or contacts, and you think no one might be interested in what you want to do?
The path between what is now and what you want often seems like an insurmountable chasm. However, it is only a chasm in your thoughts, not in reality. In other words: if you think this chasm in your thoughts, you will also perceive it in your reality.
Only one thing is important at this point: you should not want to become self-employed just for the money. This would show that you are separated from money! It would also show that you are only doing something for the money and not because you enjoy it.
How many times have you heard somewhere that you should love what you do for a living if you want to be successful at it? This is only logical, because if love were not present, it would automatically mean that it is absent = fear.
See the whole picture.
Something that you often read in biographies of successful people is that in the end it is often only the success that someone has that is seen. What is sometimes overlooked, however, are the many attempts that preceded this success. There are countless examples of attempts to set up self-employment that failed. One reason for this was often money. Either the project failed, or it was a financial success but led to problems or anxiety in other areas of life.
Only when a topic or activity was found that gave pleasure did real success come. So always remember: money does not make you happy! There are an infinite number of people who earn a lot of money but are still unhappy.
If money made people happy, that would not be possible! Then everyone would be happy if they had money!
It is therefore important that you find something that brings you joy, makes you happy and keeps you in your ego frequency. If you were to choose something else, you would always automatically weave fear into your thinking because you would leave or not reach your I-frequency.
Only in your ego frequency do you have (self-)trust, confidence and courage. Only in your I-frequency are you in your state of excellence and accordingly capable. If you are not in your I-frequency, your work will seem like just that: Work! This means you will not enjoy it and it will exhaust you as it takes energy away from you instead of giving it to you.
If you are planning your self-employment with these aspects in mind, you might ask yourself what it could be that makes you happy and with which you can also earn money?
This question may seem all the more difficult if you leave out the money factor, i.e. if you don’t focus on what could earn you the most money. Fortunately, it is the other way around, because this fact makes it easier for you to answer this question.
The 1 billion euro question.
There is a simple way to find out what you really want to do: ask yourself the following question:
What would you do if you had 1 billion euros?
You will probably answer this question by saying that you would travel the world, buy houses, cars and all the finer things in life, etc. You would just enjoy life and lie in the sun. You would just enjoy life and lie in the sun.
This answer would only be logical and natural, because our social and economic system or thinking considers such a state to be a success. People who lead such a life are considered successful. However, this is often a misconception.
The fact is: at some point you would get bored! One day you would lie in the sun on the terrace of your villa and start to ask yourself what it is that really brings you joy. This is the moment when your true self comes forward. It wants to express itself or be expressed because it strives for happiness. However, happiness requires that you realize yourself! If this is not the case, you will be unhappy.
You can therefore take a shortcut when answering the question and go straight to this moment.
What would you do?
What would you do for the sake of doing? What gives you pleasure, feels like playing and makes your heart beat faster? What would you do all day long even if you didn’t get paid for it?
A good approach is to ask yourself what you are interested in? Do you have a hobby? What magazines do you buy? Which television programs are you particularly interested in?
What gives you pleasure? What do you love?
It may take a moment for you to find the answer. This is because your thinking may still be determined by your old beliefs. This may mean that you are still thinking too much in socialized patterns: you think in the way that is common in our society, and this way of thinking does not necessarily promote self-realization.
The key to the answer is your I-frequency. Activate it and ask yourself the question: What would you like to do?
Illusion of separation.
No matter how far away your answer seems from your current reality, pursue the topic. How far in this case means: imagine that you are interested in cooking and love food. At the moment, however, you are working in an office job and, from your current perspective, you don’t see how you could ever become self-employed in something to do with cooking or food.
It seems too far away!
But that is precisely an illusion! Even if you are currently pursuing a career that you think is far removed from what you really want, you can still think however you want.
In this case, you might think:
“I love to cook!”
“Cooking for other people is a wonderful thing!”
“Earning a living from cooking is a dream!”
“Owning a restaurant is fantastic!”
Etc.
All of these are neutral statements! You can always think them, no matter what your current situation may be. The decisive factor is how these statements will affect your perception.
That’s what it’s all about! It doesn’t matter what situation you are currently in. It is only the result of your past thinking (beliefs). Until now, you thought that your self-employment, such as having your own restaurant, was an illusion: daydreaming.
Accordingly, your selective perception has confirmed this.
That’s why you couldn’t before:
– Make perceptions that prompt you to take new actions.
– Take actions that lead you to new places, where you make new perceptions, meet people and experience situations.
– Make perceptions that lead you to new insights, ideas, information and conclusions.
– On the basis of these new insights, ideas, information and conclusions, you can in turn think new thoughts and take new actions, which will also lead you to new places where you make new perceptions, meet new people and experience new situations.
You simply could not perceive the path that leads you to the realization of your dream, because your selective perception has filtered it out!
Look at the process from a different perspective: when an event occurs, such as the opening of a new restaurant, there is a whole series of events leading up to it. A chain of events that led to this event.
Which is actually realistic.
Imagine you have an idea but have no idea how to realize it. At some point you have a perception that gives you the idea to visit a place. At this place, you meet someone who gives you some information, which in turn gives you a new idea. You then deal with a topic and come to new insights. This again leads to you going to a place where you again gather new information or insights that bring you closer to your dream, or you meet a person who even gives you the key to realizing the dream.
You can imagine the scenario in the most adventurous way, with the most absurd concatenations. One thing will become clear to you: nothing is impossible! It is always comprehensible and completely realistic.
– It is realistic that you will perceive something in a place that gives you an idea.
– It is realistic that you will meet people who will give you new ideas or help you.
– It is realistic that you will gain new insights through your perceptions.
– It is realistic that such a concatenation can lead to what you want.
– It is realistic that you will meet a person who will give you the key to the realization of your dream, or that you will find yourself in a situation in which this key is revealed to you – you will receive it.
The only thing that stands in your way are your thoughts! Thoughts that express that not everything is possible!
We humans tend to think that something is not possible rather than that it is possible. We often even think that something negative is more likely to happen than something positive. This is only logical, because the majority of our thoughts are determined by fear!
Write it down somewhere in big letters and repeat it in your mind as often as you can:
Nothing is impossible!
Determine the chain reaction.
No matter which event you look at, it is always preceded by a series of events that led up to it.
You decide which events these should be! You do this through your thoughts, in a logical, comprehensible and effective way!
When you have found a topic that inspires you, that fills you with love and joy, that you would like to do for the rest of your life, even if it doesn’t earn you any money, you start working on this topic!
You do this with statements!
– Statements that express presence and having.
– Statements that do not express separation, lack or wanting.
– Statements that have no relevance to you.
– Statements that express love.
Then the following will happen:
– You will make perceptions that will prompt you to take new actions.
– These actions will lead you to (new) places.
– In these places you will make new perceptions, experience new situations or meet new people.
– You will receive new information, gain insights and come to conclusions.
– This information, knowledge and conclusions will in turn lead to new ideas.
– These new thoughts will in turn lead you to new actions, which will lead you to new places where you make new perceptions, experience new situations or meet new people, etc.
It is nothing more than a chain of events. The decisive factor, however, is where this chain leads!
It can lead you away from your dream or lead you towards it!
What would you prefer?
Apart from that, it is up to you alone to think the way you want: do you want to think that everything is chance, or that everything is subject to a logic that you can control?
Realize that your previous life and experiences are the result of your previous thoughts and beliefs. It is only up to you to change your thinking!
Think new thoughts and beliefs, because this will influence your selective perception – with the corresponding logical and comprehensible consequences!
Then you will begin to make perceptions that will lead you event by event, perception by perception, to what you desire. The list of possible paths is endless! Don’t worry about how something will happen. That is not your job!
As Albert Einstein put it: You cannot solve a problem at the level at which you created it. You have to go one level deeper: to the cause!
You can’t solve the problem “I’d like to be self-employed but don’t know how” with the same thoughts that led you there!
Your task is to go one level deeper!
Ask yourself which thoughts are keeping you trapped in this reality and which could free you from it?
What result should your future thoughts lead you to?
Do you think they will be the same thoughts you have been thinking?
If you want to find yourself in a situation where you are happily independent or self-employed, that’s exactly what you need to think!
You have to think the way you would think if this reality were already your reality. The only reason why this reality is not your reality is because you don’t think that way!
Turn the tables.
Don’t wait for a situation to happen so that you can feel the way you would feel in that particular situation, but feel the way you would feel in that particular situation! Then the situation will happen!
In order for you to succeed, you have to program your beliefs accordingly and keep them active. Above all, you must make sure that you do not unconsciously adopt beliefs that contradict what you want!
That can happen very quickly! A stupid comment from someone who tells you that you will never achieve this or that can be enough! It worked before, when society and the education system told you that your opportunities were limited with your education and level of knowledge.
Always remember Henry Ford: he could neither read nor write. Nevertheless, he not only built one of the most successful automobiles of all time and a gigantic corporation, but also revolutionized industrialization by inventing the assembly line!
Do not orient yourself to what is, and certainly not to what others claim! Focus exclusively on what you want!
Deal with it!
Check your beliefs and make sure that they do not express separation, lack or want. Formulate them in such a way that you deal with a topic in joy and love, and that the world is full of possibilities for you!
Ask yourself what you want to do and what you want to feel and perceive!
Then start thinking in the direction of your dream and program beliefs that express that your dream is not separate from you.
Then you will take a step towards your dream every day!
Start today and something might happen tomorrow. However, if you don’t start today, the likelihood that anything will change tomorrow is rather low!
Tutorial Information
Time Required
– approx. 30-60 minutes
– Repeat weekly until your new beliefs are programmed and you notice changes.
Effect
You will realize that it is your fears (old beliefs) that are preventing you from realizing your dreams. This realization, as well as the right beliefs, will dissolve your fears and reprogram your selective perception. This will pave the way to your dream. You will perceive things (information, situations, people, etc.) that you did not perceive before. This will cause you to take actions that you have not taken before. This will lead you to places you have not been to before. There you will perceive new things that you have not (otherwise) perceived before. All this will lead you to new insights, which in turn will lead to new perceptions and actions!
Tip
Write down your new beliefs in a notebook, keep it with you at all times and read through your new beliefs regularly. Write down your beliefs as often as possible, as this will also reinforce them. Use reminders so that you are constantly reminded of your new beliefs. Make sure you also go through the Self Confidence and Finance Tutorials!

Here you can download the instructions and the worksheet for the tutorial as a printable PDF.
This is how you program a new belief system on the subject of independence – self-employment:
Hint: Use the tutorial worksheet to identify, define and program your beliefs.
It is important that you use your own words and expressions! Write the way you think!
1. Go into your I-frequency – think of someone you love or something you love.
2. Think about your self-employment, your prospects, your income, etc. Observehow you feel, e.g. when you think about these topics. How does your I-frequency react?
Your I-frequency becomes stronger:
3. If you feel good because your I-frequency is getting stronger, analyze the content of your thoughts. How do you think about your independence? What words do you use? Why do you feel good when you think about it?
Note down a few key points under 1.
This section describes how you have thought so far.
4. Then think about whether you want to continue thinking this way or whether you want to optimize your thoughts a little more. optimize so that you feel even better and, for example, express even more security and confidence when you think about or live your independence.
Once you are clear about how you want to think, write down your thoughts under 5. (Even if they are identical to 1. )
This area describes how you want to think now.
Then continue at point 5. here.
Your I-frequency becomes weaker:
3. If you are not feeling well or your I-frequency is weakening, you have identified an unfavorable belief. This belief relates to a specific area or aspect of your independence / self-employment. Identify the area/aspect and analyze the thoughts of your belief. How do you still express absence, separation, lack or wanting (fear) in relation to this area? Identify the words you use to express worry, uncertainty, insecurity, lack of trust, etc.
Note these thoughts on the worksheet under 1.
This section describes how you have thought so far.
4. Now define thoughts for your new belief system that express the presence of independence, respectively the presence of successful self-employment and its benefits of. How can you think about your independence and self-employment in such a way that you feel good and have a strong I-frequency? Formulate thoughts that match your level: Statements that you can think and feel without resistance, i.e. your I-frequency remains constant or improves. Don’t go right to the top!
Note these thoughts (as bullet points) under 5. in the worksheet.
This area describes how you want to think now.
Continue at point 5. here.
5. Next, formulate how you want to feel when you live or experience your independence / self-employment and write it down under 2.
6. Then formulate what you would like to perceive in your inependence / self-employment and write it down under 3.
7. Now combine the points 2. and 3. into a single statement (can consist of several sentences!) and write them down under 4.
8. Combine Your statement 4. with the newly defined ideas / content 5. into your new belief (also as a statement!). Write it down under 6.
9. Write down your belief in as many places as possible. Write small pieces of paper and hand them out. Write the belief in a notebook and keep it with you at all times. The point is to remind yourself of your new belief as often as possible. You can also make yourself thought aids, such as small colorful dots to stick everywhere. Be creative!
10. Think exclusively about this new belief! Think it as often as possible, e.g. when you think about your independence, or when you notice that your I-frequency is weakening because you are becoming insecure or worried about your future. Whenever the topic of independence / self-employment is relevant.
11. You should take action! Get started and stay disciplined until your new belief system is programmed and you notice that something is changing in terms of your independence / self-employment.
Check your I-frequency regularly and correct your belief system if necessary.
12. Complete further tests with the corresponding tutorials, as everything is connected and your skills influence each other. It is therefore very important that you work on all your skills and achieve a high level of proficiency.
Your I-frequency shows you at any time where there is still a need for action.
Listen to them!
