Why fear intensifies when you want to get rid of it.
It is probably the most decisive turning point on the inner journey:
The moment when you realize that it is not the fear itself that is the problem – but how you deal with it.
You want to get rid of the fear. You analyze it. You ask yourself where it comes from.
And that’s exactly why it stays.
Because:
The more you try to get rid of fear, the stronger it becomes.
This is no coincidence. It’s not a psychological trick.
It’s a precise biological principle.
The Fearless Code calls it the fear paradox.
What is the fear paradox?
The fear paradox describes an inner law of nature:
If you feel fear – and then try to solve it , overcome it or make it go away –
you unconsciously reinforce it.
Why?
Because your subconscious automatically assumes:
What you focus on must be relevant to your survival – otherwise you wouldn’t bother with it.
So:
– You want to get rid of the fear.
– You think about it.
– You feel inside.
– You try to calm them down or analyze them.
And that confirms it: Fear is important.
The system reacts immediately:
– Activation of the nervous system
– Biochemical reinforcement
– Fixation of perception on danger
Not because the fear is real.
But because it has been made relevant by your focus. You react to it and thereby give it meaning.
How exactly does it work? The logic of survival
In the Fearless Code it is clear:
Your system does not follow emotions – it follows survival logic.
And this logic is ancient.
The subconscious mind does not differentiate between:
– “I am afraid“
– “I don’t want to be afraid anymore”
It can identify terms such as none / not. Both mean: focus on fear = fear is important = protect, fix, maintain.
The result:
The fear intensifies – just because you are trying to get rid of it.
Not because it is real.
Why this is paradoxical – but logical
What looks like self-sabotage is actually an ancient protection program:
Focus → Meaning → Survival reaction
The subconscious does not protect you, but what you focus on.
This is the core of the paradox.
You want to be free – but your focus binds you to exactly what you want to get rid of.
The solution: Inspired action instead of fear-reaction
As soon as you realize this, it also becomes clear:
You don’t need a technique to conquer fear.
You don’t need control either.
You need a new kind of action.
Inspired action.
What is that?
Inspired action is the movement, decision or action that you can only do because you have understood that fear is not your yardstick – but only an outdated reaction pattern.
It is not acting in spite of fear.
It is no longer acting out of fear.
As soon as you do this, your system will register:
“It is not the fear that is important for survival – but this new action.”
This breaks down the old logic.
The system no longer follows fear – it follows you.
What is the real question you should be asking yourself?
No longer: “How do I get rid of the fear?“
But rather: “What is an inspired action now?”
This question changes everything.
Because:
– You realize that fear is just a reaction – not the truth
– You give the system a new frequency setting
– You begin to steer your actions according to your inner direction – not according to protective logic
– You focus on what you want and no longer on what you don’t want.
– What you want, even if it is only a seemingly trivial action, increases your I-frequency because it is good for you – you feel good (better).
How to resolve the fear paradox in real time – step by step
1. Create clarity: What is really going on here?
Say (inwardly or aloud):
– “This fear is not a danger – it’s just the result of my old focus.”
– “I’m not in danger because the fear isn’t real. It’s just a protective mechanism that I don’t need right now.”
2. Ask the system question: What is an inspired action now?
Not as a technique – but as a decision:
– “What action represents the version of me that knows this fear is not the truth? “*
And: Do exactly that – even if you are still unsure. You have to jump!
3. After the action: anchor the new frequency
Say a clarity sentence:
– “I have just realigned myself.”
– “The system now follows me – my focus – not the fear.”
Fear does not die through struggle – but through loss of meaning.
– Fear is intensified by focus – even if you want to get rid of it.
– The subconscious protects what you focus your energy on.
– Solution: Frequency change through inspired action.
So from now on, the question is always:
“What is an inspired action now?”
and not
“How do I get rid of the fear?”
You overwrite the system. You – and the fear loses its meaning.
You don’t need control. You need a decision.
And a new inner orientation:
It is not fear that decides what you do – but your clarity and conscious focus on what you want – the inspired action.
Exercise
Implementation plan: what you can do if you fall into the fear paradox.
This structure helps you to distinguish between fear-driven reaction and inspired action at all times – and to consciously choose the higher frequency.
DECISION-MAKING RUTINE FOR ANXIETY (can be used immediately – duration: approx. 3 minutes)
1. SYSTEM STOP (10 seconds)
→ Stop immediately. No action. No thinking.
→ Be still – inwardly and outwardly.
Say:
> “Wait. Don’t automatically act out of fear.”
> “My system only reacts to focus – but I am now consciously determining / refocusing.”
2. CLARITY ACTIVATION (30 seconds)
→ Raise your gaze, open your body, breathe calmly.
→ Establish presence. Energetically clarify what is happening.
Say to yourself consciously:
> “This fear is not a warning signal and not a real threat – but an indication that my focus is currently misaligned.”
> “I am now focusing in a different direction – on what I want and what is good for me.”
3. ASK THE CENTRAL QUESTION (10 seconds)
> “What is an inspired action now?”
> Not: How do I get rid of fear?
An inspired action is:
– directly
– clearly
– not controlled
– not out of a desire to solve a condition or get rid of something – not a to condition
– but out of the knowledge that fear is not a measure, but my conscious decision to focus on something else now, to do something – inspired action. It is not a distraction, but a conscious decision to do something else.
4. DECIDE AND IMPLEMENT ACTION (1-2 minutes)
→ Consciously perform an action that:
• does not come from protective logic
• was not analyzed
• comes from your higher standard
Examples:
– Answer clearly with “yes” or “no”
– Send a rejection or commitment that you have been putting off
– Leave the room
– Initiate a conversation
– Tackle the task without needing good energy
– Consciously straighten your posture and move on
Important: It’s not about the feeling, but about the direction. Your thoughts – the decision to take inspired action – must always be greater than your feelings. This means that you are not guided by your feelings – to the next thought – but you consciously decide with your free will and your focus.
5. STABILIZE FREQUENCY (30 seconds)
→ Remain still. Do nothing more. Just acknowledge what has just happened.
Say:
> “I have made up my mind.” Do not evaluate or check whether there is fear. No focus on feelings!
> “The system follows my new focus – not the old fear frequency.”
> “I am no longer reactive but active. I make decisions and act consciously.”
Don’t evaluate or analyze anything. Just do it! Stubborn and disciplined inspired actions.
Ask yourself:
> “What could I do now?”
Do it and then ask yourself the same question again.
EVERYDAY USE
In the morning:
– Write down the question: “What would be an inspired action now?”
During the day:
– As soon as you start to feel uneasy: Immediately resort to the decision-making routine.
– No internal argumentation or analysis – instead action from presence.
In the evening:
– Review: “Where did I act inspired today – not reactive?“
– Write down one action you will repeat tomorrow from this energy.
Emergency protocol when fear sets in
1. STOP. DO NOT RESPOND
→ “My system is responding – but I’m making a new decision.”
2. CLARIFICATION
→ “This fear is not a danger signal – it’s just a focus error.“
→ “I’m not threatened – I’m on my way to the next version of myself.”
3. ASK THE QUESTION
→ “What is an inspired action now?” (Not: How do I get rid of the fear?)
4. ACT IMMEDIATELY
→ Action that comes from your conscious decision – not from your fear.
5. TRUST AND ANCHOR
→ “I’ve just decided.“
→ “My system follows me now – not the old pattern.”
IMPORTANT:
My thoughts are always higher than my feelings.
I decide what I focus on, not my thoughts.
I don’t need a perfect mood. Just a clear decision.
I act, not to distract myself or out of fear, but because I have decided to do something else, to focus on something else.
Act stubbornly and with discipline. The subconscious then concludes that inspired actions are important for survival, not fear.
